Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
For Canadiens fans and collectors who may have missed them in the past come these two all-Habs ensembles, with a 66-card set, issued in an oversized puck-shape box back in 1993, starting things off. It was manufactured by O-Pee-Chee to coincide with Montreal hosting the NHL All-Star Game and the big “Hockey Fest” show that was held that weekend. The cards do not appear as though they were ever looked at, with however a tear in the original plastic wrap that continues to surround them. More colorful and appealing is a complete 300-card set released by Upper Deck to commemorate the Canadiens’ centennial, already a few years back. Cards numbered 201 to 300 are considered short prints and were somewhat of a task to track down, with the subsets featuring team captains, arenas, team statistical leaders, trophy winners, memorable moments and retired jersey numbers. Very well done and critically acclaimed by hobbyists, they’re a treat to check out – you’ll love’em!
