From their inaugural season in Colorado where the Avalanche finished first in their division and won the Stanley Cup, comes this Colorado Avalanche jersey game-worn by Peter Forsberg. Center-Ice Authentic and large “56-G” size tagging remains in the collar with an additional Starter/NHL patch on the back bottom hem. Featuring a beautiful large team crest, tackle twill numbers and an arching back nameplate, matching bigfoot patches also sit on both shoulders as well as a 1996 Stanley Cup Finals replica patch over the right breast, which was added by the team later as known to have been done by the team. Worn during the 1996 playoffs where the Avalanche were eventual Stanley Cup champs, this jersey was part of a multi-jersey deal purchased directly from the team in circa 1998. Dual LOA’s will accompany this jersey including one from the Colorado Avalanche.
The deal, which included this gamer and a few others, was purchased through Avalanche director of retail operations Sherman, who then went on to become the team’s general manager in conjunction with and through Brian Rogers at the Detroit Hockey Company. This Peter Forsberg Colorado Avalanche jersey game-worn during the 1996 playoffs shows nice wear with board burns on the front bottom hem, 3 large stick marks on and around the left elbow, 3 more black marks in-between and to the right of the back numbers, and some red paint transfer on the left side of the team crest and on the right armpit.
