Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
The first American-born goaltender to reach the Hall of Fame, Frank Brimsek backstopped the Bruins to both their second and third Stanley Cups in 1939 and ’41. Having to first supplant well-loved Tiny Thompson, over time Brimsek became a perennial crowd favourite with the Boston hopeful. Here are 4 different items signed by “Mr. Zero” including a Bruins puck, index card, and two 8” x 11” Boston Garden program pages, one being a cover. The index card measures 3” x 5” and has a nice and dark blue ink signature, and Frank has added both his nickname as well as HOF and Stanley Cup notations. The program page which pictures Brimsek in action has been signed at the bottom in blue sharpie, and the signature is especially bold. The Boston Garden program cover has also been signed in blue sharpie near the bottom of the image and it projects well. Rounding out the lot is the Official Bruins puck, with the signature executed in thin silver sharpie. All items are in good condition showing just light handling wear.
