Bill Barilko and Toronto teammates are all smiles as Montreal Canadiens goalie Gerry McNeil skates off the ice after the Maple Leafs defenceman’s famous 1951 Stanley Cup-winning goal at Maple Leaf Gardens. Leafs goaltending great Turk Broda has a broad grin having claimed his fifth Cup overall as he stands behind the resigned McNeil, who has just suffered his fourth overtime loss of the finals, a five-game series which saw every game decided beyond regulation. This fantastic image is frozen in time in this wonderful original painting by artist Carleton “Mac” McDiarmid. Beautifully presented in a gorgeous blue matte, the image is mounted in a 17 3/4” x 30 1/2” white metal frame. The back of the artwork is signed and dated "C. McDiarmid 1996" and comes with an LOA. A fantastic artwork to add to a Maple Leafs/Stanley Cup collection.
