Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
The fifth overall selection at the 1986 NHL Entry Draft, defenceman Shawn Anderson made his NHL debut with the Buffalo Sabres in 1986-87, and would represent the club for four seasons before additional NHL stints with Washington and Quebec along with a single game played for the Philadelphia Flyers. From his rookie campaign where he appeared in 41 games, we have a Sabres jersey worn by Anderson in 1986-87. A Maska Ultrafil label sits affixed to the collar over an “86 07” date tag, with the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 50. Styled with a layered team crest with embroidered detailing, the white V-neck has been accented with “37” over the sleeves and verso in blue-over-gold twill, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
There is also an embroidered CCM logo over the reverse hem of the sweater. The jersey shows good game-use, with wear to the material throughout as well as washed-out marks, with some pilling beneath the intact dual-clasp fight strap. There are also team repairs visible, with examples over the front (3), reverse (2) and left sleeve (6).
