Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020

Heavily feared throughout his tenure on Broadway bluelines, Ivan “Ching” Johnson spent his entire NHL career in The Big Apple, first with the Blueshirts for over a decade before a single swan-song season with the Americans, in 1937-38. The first we have ever handled, we have an Arco Skate Skating Club booklet and pin, with this booklet featuring Johnson as a New York American, as opposed to the regularly-seen New York Rangers examples. At 4 ½” x 5 ½” and admittedly in lower grade with heavy damage to the covers, the front cover has Ching in his Americans wool, with the original never-removed membership certificate showing the flawless, high-grade 7/8” pin in situ (the pin was produced by Chicago's Greenduck Company). Originally inserted into boxes of Arco skates during the late-1930s, this still-affixed survivor would be the perfect addition to any vintage hockey pin collection.
