Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014

From Don Hamilton, a member of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, is his jersey and goalie mask worn by him while with the Vancouver Burrards of the WLA (Western Lacrosse Association). The game-worn, durene-style jersey features a sewn-on Burrard’s crest along with the double tackle twill number “2” on the back and arms, while stitched-on “Hamilton” lettering is on the nameplate which has partially come apart. The jersey shows numerous marks and stains, along with a couple of holes in the right sleeve and another in the left but all in all a cool 1970s lacrosse jersey that could be cleaned up and displayed nicely. Hamilton’s vintage “Cooper” goalie mask has marks lining the bottom, part of the inner forehead protection is broken, and while all straps are intact, they definitely show serious aging.
Hamilton was named the Western Lacrosse League's top netminder award, the Leo Nicholson Trophy, in 1969, 1970 and 1971 and won the Mann Cup as a player in 1961 and 1975, and in 1977 as a GM. He would also play serious hockey in the mid to late-1950s with the Victoria Cougars of the WHL, Melville Millionaires of the SJHL, Seattle Americans of the WHL, and Victoria Vics of the VCHL.
