Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
This original Yankee Stadium two-seat bench was removed during the two-year closure for renovations to the House that Ruth Built which began in September of 1973. Folk art added features the Yankees script and top hat logo, a pair of baseballs on either end, an MLB logo, and the numbers and names of Yankees icons Ruth (3), Gehrig (4) and DiMaggio (5), though the outline of original seat numbers 10 and 11 remain visible. Roughly one-third of old Yankee Stadium’s bleached seats were removed during the two-year renovation which saw the Yankees set up home at Shea Stadium in 1974 and 1975. A fantastic piece of history from the original edition of Yankee Stadium. Due to its size, special shipping arrangements must be made.
