Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Finnish-born sniper Jari Kurri was reunited with his old Edmonton buddy Wayne Gretzky in the early-1990s in Los Angeles where he would collect solid numbers (eg. 27 goals and 60 assists in 1992-93), as he had for all of his career up to that point, because this was a guy with natural hands, a guy who knew what to do with the puck. Offered is a Kurri game-used Koho Revolution from his California days, with tape removed from the blade (outlines of the original tape remain visible), with original white knob tape still in place. “Kurri” is stamped near the top of the shaft, and game marks line the shaft which also has Kurri’s dedicated signature, which is clear but not bold, in brown marker as “To Dangerous, All the best, Jari Kurri”. A fine gamer indeed from a player who would rack up 1398 points in 1251 games (17 seasons), with induction into the HOF in 2001 as a fitting conclusion.
