Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
The biggest goal in New York Islanders history will always belong to Bob Nystrom, who scored in overtime of Game 6 in the 1980 final to begin the Isles’ run of four straight Stanley Cups. Nystrom’s number 23 game-worn jersey is from the 1981-82 season, a classic white mesh beauty worn for home games with the Sandow SK logo heat screened on the right rear tail. Laundry instruction tagging and a washed-out flag tag sit in the back of the neck and the loop style fight strap has a skate lace. Game wear shows in a team repair on the right sleeve, which also has a few nice stick marks and burns, as does the left sleeve. More stick marks and burns on the front and rear tails, and very nice interior pilling.
