Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Highly intriguing is this lot, picturing men who tended goal in the Western Canadian Hockey League, appearing on cards issued by the Paulin Chambers Company and included with a Paulin’s Hockey Bar. Both cards here have been stamped on the back, but not with the company stamp that was put on cards after they had been sent to Paulin’s in exchange for a prize. The four lines include “Prices OK’ by___, Stock Entered by___, A C Posted by___” and one we can’t decipher. The #24 card of Red McCusker is an otherwise impressively clean example with however a very small, barely detectable light back crease denying us the chance to grade it otherwise NM, while the #68 Charlie Reid card is crease-free and otherwise EX, (again, not taking into account the stamping). All-in-all, dandy relics to entice goalie and pre-war card collectors.
