From the 1980 NHL All-Star Game held at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, an event that marked Wayne Gretzky's first of 18 such appearances and Gordie Howe's 23rd and final all-star game, comes 5 great pieces including 8" x 10" signed photos of Howe and Gretzky in their All-Star uniforms, with each signing their particular photo - Wayne in clear vintage ballpoint pen, and Gordie using black marker and adding "Kindest regards". We also include a ticket stub in excellent condition from the event, measuring 2 1/4" x 4"; a metal pinback (1 1/2" x 3/4") with the NHL and Red Wings logos and "Detroit All-Star Game 1980" engraved; and a 10" in diameter pewter plate, displaying the 21 team logos with the engraving "Detroit, Feb. 4th - 1980" at the bottom.
On the reverse of the plate are foundry markings GIF, SBB, PVK, JSR, Canton, Ohio. The plate remains in excellent condition with light surface scratching and a few minor nicks.
