Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Awesome piece of hockey history is Bernard Geoffrion’s 1960-61 Montreal Canadiens game-used stick that the deceased HOFer used to set an NHL record with his 12th game-winning goal of the season. Boom Boom, who won the Art Ross and Hart Trophies that season, scored the goal on March 11, 1961 against Boston’s Bruce Gamble, which appears in black notation on the side of the shaft of his CCM Pro gamer. The goal was Geoffrion’s 48th of the season as he went on to become only the second player in NHL history to score 50 goals in a season. Boomer’s original tape jobs remain on the blade and knob with “Geoffrion 5” stamped on the shaft. Comes with the late Bernie “Boom Boom” Geoffrion’s signed LOA. There is a small hole drilled through the middle of the shaft and the accent stripes are missing on the lower shaft.
