Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

Collectors of rare vintage shirts will surely find this 1978-80 Nanaimo Clippers jersey very intriguing. This game-worn jersey, which shows pilling, puckering, marks, stains, paint transfer, several unrepaired holes in the right sleeve and on the front and back, also has flaked paint on the numbers and a quick stitching job below the back collar. It was worn by John Newberry who had an amazing 1979/80 season where he posted 185 points in 65 games – WOW!! John was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft and played only briefly in the NHL and for quite some time in the AHL. Quite the rare jersey here that will no doubt be scooped up quickly by the serious collector.
