Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
Not one but four minor league game-worn jerseys offered, beginning with a nice red, white, and blue gamer from the early-2000s from the Suny Cortland Red Dragons of the NCAA. Collar tagging reads a size 56 and includes a "Bauer" patch sewn in, while the gamer shows a touch of puckering in the crest and some light game-wear with a small amount of marks in places throughout. Jersey has no nameplate, but features both the crest and numbers as red on blue double twill. Next a red, white, and blue mesh gamer from the Central Hockey League Wichita Thunder's Stars and Stripes Game from October 14, 2001. Thunder played the New Mexico Scorpions in this charity affair that saw proceeds go to the family of 9/11 victim Garnet "Ace" Bailey, who was the Wichita Wind coach in the early-1980s. This gamer, worn by Andrew Dickson, has a size XXL tag in the collar and shows only slight signs of game wear with some marks on the left sleeve. A stamped patch in memory of Ace Bailey is on the right sleeve. Next is a well-worn gamer from captain Thomas Scantlebury of the 2000-01 Lethbridge Hurricanes that saw the defenceman rack up 162 penalty minutes in 71 games that season. The jersey, tagged as a "Nike 56" in the collar, shows terrific signs of battle, with heavy marking everywhere, along with some paint transfer, stains, and several unrepaired holes in the left sleeve and one in the right. This fellow was definitely involved in heavy warfare. Finally, a 2001 Marcus Ragnarsson NHL Stars tournament jersey to benefit injured players. Ragnarsson has signed his name and number and the back, and gamer shows no visible marks and such. Collar is tagged as a size XXL.
