Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

One of the highest-scoring American players in NHL history, Bill Guerin wore this 2010-11 Philadelphia Flyers jersey during the preseason in his failed bid to make the team. A Stanley Cup champion with New Jersey in 1995, Bill hoisted Lord Stanley’s silver chalice one more time with Pittsburgh in 2009. When he wasn’t offered a contract by Penguins GM Ray Shero for the 2010-11 season, Guerin tried to catch on with their Keystone State rivals in Philly. Bill wore this white Flyers preseason gamer but was released prior to the start of the season. He announced his retirement later that fall with 429 goals and 856 points to his credit in 1,263 regular season games. One of the last, if not the last, NHL jerseys worn by Guerin, it has a size 58 flag tag in the back of the neck. The MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2010-2011 Season patch sewn inside the tail has a registry number that corresponds to the one on the accompanying Flyers/MeiGray LOA that states that Guerin wore this jersey during preseason games. Light but obvious game wear shows in marks on the right sleeve near the cuff.
