Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
When the plane carrying the KHL Lokomotive squad crashed near Yaroslavl, Russia on Sept. 7, 2011, the world, especially the hockey world, mourned. The team was gone, which included Latvian-born defenseman Karlis Skrastins, whose 2006-07 game-used Colorado Avalanche jersey is offered now. With a size 56 tag attached on the inside collar, this Reebok shows lighter game wear and includes "The MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2002-2003 Season" registry patch sewn inside the tail. Originally drafted by Nashville in 1998, Skrastins would play five seasons in Music City before being traded to the Avs, where he donned this number 3 gamer. Skrastins would eventually end his years in the NHL with Florida and Dallas before his ill-fated time with Lokomotive. Jersey comes with a LOA signed by Avs Equipment Manager Mark Miller and a MeiGray Group representative.
