He spent 18 seasons in the bigs, mostly with the New York Rangers, and when all was said and done, with 1205 regular season games under his belt, brilliant defenseman Brian Leetch saw his number 2 raised to the rafters at Madison Square Garden in 2008, and he was inducted into the HOF in 2009. Offered is Leetch’s New York Rangers late-1980s New York Rangers practice jersey, tagged in the collar as “Cosby (size) XL, with washing instructions and a Maska tag below. This Air-Knit red practice jersey features a screened “Rangers” on the front and a rubberized number “2” on the back and includes several snags, an unrepaired hole, and a small scattering of marks on the right sleeve, while the left sleeve contains marks and a screened rubberized “Apple” logo with two crossed sticks. Marks are also noticeable on the shoulder area, a large set of marks on the side/front, and a substantial amount on the back of the jersey. On the tail are screened logos of “Gerry Cosby” and “CCM”. To note is the CCM logo, which is from circa 1984-85, but these practice jerseys were used by the Rangers for a long period of time and was worn by Leetch in the first few years of his joining the Rangers, which began in 1987-88. A terrific practice-worn jersey from one of the all-time great d-men of the game.
