Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
It was while with the Washington Capitals between 2008 and 2011 that Russian-born goalkeeper Semyon Varlamov used these five items, including three different sticks, a blocker, and a catching glove, beginning with a Bauer Vapor game-used stick that features Varlamov's white-taped blade and knob, with red tape wrapped near the paddle. Nice game marks along the top edge of the blade are noticeable, as well as light marks on the paddle. The two Reebok game-issued sticks have similar white-taped knobs, while only one has red tape near the paddle. Both blades are untaped with one having a nice big Varlamov autograph on the blade signed in black marker. Both Reeboks are showing various handling marks throughout. The Vaughn blocker shows excellent game-use, with puck marks in large numbers scattered everywhere, with an embroidered "Varlamov" on the cuff and a Washington Capitals hologram inside. Varlamov's catching glove, which isn't from the same year/set as the blocker, also shows great game-wear with tons of puck marks and "Varlamov" also embroidered on it as well and a Washington Capitals hologram inside. Five excellent game-used/issued items from the Caps' first-round pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
