Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

Silver-colored image of Tommy Joe Coffey catching a football is the fitting centerpiece of this unique award plaque. The Hamilton Tiger-Cat Quarterback Club presented this plaque to their legendary receiver “in recognition of holding the record for most pass receptions in professional football and being the C.F.L.’s 1st 10,000 yard receiver” which they dated October 23, 1972. The picture of Tommy Joe in his #75 Tiger-Cats uniform with the empty Ivor Wynne Stadium grandstand in the background measures a little larger than 9” x 7” and it is mounted on top of the 13 1/2" x 10 1/2" silver-colored plaque with Coffey’s name and the above-mentioned details engraved on it. It is mounted on a black wood plaque that measures a shade over 15” x 12” overall. The picture remains in wonderful condition and as does the light silver plaque, the latter with a few light scratches that do not diminish its display. The black wood plaque has some rough wear on the corners, notably the top right and bottom left, and a few light marks of white paint on the upper left edge and on the bottom left side. Comes with Tommy Joe Coffey’s signed letter of authenticity.
