The scene was Winnipeg Stadium in 1991, the 79th Grey Cup, featuring the Toronto Argonauts from the East against the West's Calgary Stampeders. By kickoff time the weather was -16 C, with 51,985 hearty souls in the stands watching the two teams duel it out for the cherished hardware. In the end the Argos, owned by Bruce McNall, Wayne Gretzky, and John Candy, beat Calgary 36 to 21, with wide receiver Darell Smith scoring one of Toronto's four touchdowns on the afternoon. Offered is Smith's 1991 Grey Cup Championship size 11 ring, made by Jostens and weighing about 46 grams, with real diamonds spelling out "A" on the tableau, encircled by "1991 Grey Cup Champions, The Pride The Glory". One shank features the Cup with Toronto/Calgary flags above, and the score - 36-21, while the opposite shank has the image of an Argos helmet, with "Smith" above and "1" plus "Fifteen-Five" below. Engraved on the inside band of are "© Jostens 10K" and "10-0 At Home". This rings shows evidence of wear with slight scratching and nicks, but is in wonderful overall condition.
