Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

Having helped the Toronto Granites to the Olympic gold medal in 1924 with 17 goals in five games(!), Reginald “Hooley” Smith was indeed an NHL rookie when he appeared on his Champ’s Cigarette official rookie card in 1924-25 as a member of the Ottawa Senators. A Stanley Cup with the ’26-27 Senators, another with the ’34-35 Maroons and 200 career goals helped Hooley land in the Hall of Fame. Staining, both front and back, helped this little treasure drop down to VG 3 in the eyes of the experts at PSA who have been called-on just 16 similar times in the past.
