Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
An instant collection of Montreal Canadiens York Peanut Butter glasses, and in sensational like-new condition, is offered here, with the tumblers still ever-popular over 50 years after first appearing on supermarket shelves. This first series was reportedly issued in March of 1961 to coincide with the start of the NHL playoffs and includes Doug Harvey wearing the captain's "C". Fellow Hall-of-Famers featured in marvelous action and head-and-shoulder depictions are Jacques Plante, Jean Beliveau, Bernie Geoffrion, Henri Richard, Dickie Moore and Tom Johnson, with Don Marshall, Phil Goyette, Marcel Bonin and Junior Langlois completing. We cannot spot a single even minor flaw - these are shocking with bright vivid red and white paint. Constituting a complete Canadiens '60-61 set, these deserve to be toasted - "here's to York and the Habs!"
