Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
Thought-provoking image here is that of Didier Pitre, the very first player signed by Jack Laviolette when the latter was given the task of assembling the first edition of the Montreal Canadiens in 1909! Said to pack a tremendous shot, Pitre scored 24 goals in 17 games the season this card was issued and was the NHA scoring champ in 1915-16 when the Canadiens captured their first of 24 Stanley Cup titles. Centering affects this example of card #45 which has received a mark of VG-EX 4 from PSA, making it a Pop-7 with nine Pitre cards grading higher.
