Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
It had been an Atlanta Thrashers team-signed jersey from the 2001-02 season, auctioned off in Vancouver in August of 2003 to benefit Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, and tragically, just over a month later, one of the players who had signed the jersey, Dan Snyder, would suddenly be gone after being involved in a deadly car crash. Offered is this Thrashers CCM jersey, signed by Snyder and company, tagged in the collar as a size XXL, with an attached tag from Philips Arena, the home of the Thrashers until the franchise pulled up stakes in 2011 and moved to Winnipeg. About 25 Thrashers have signed this jersey along with Snyder, and include Dany Heatley, Jeff Cowan, Bob Corkum (who only played for the Thrashers during the 2001-02 season,) Jiri Slegr (traded to Detroit during the 2001-02 campaign), Ray Ferraro (traded to St. Louis during that season), Chris Tamer, Frantisek Kaberle, Pasi Nurminen, Jeff Odgers, and many more. The players have all signed in black marker, with no smudging or fading anywhere. A Thrashers jersey in excellent condition, with clear and bold signatures of the 2001-02 squad spread throughout the front.
