Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
Toronto's Hall of Fame-laden lineup of the early-1960s stars here, led by a superb, difficult-to-expect-nicer Tim Horton autograph, penned to a 3-1/2" by 5-1/2" team-issued blank-backed postcard. Armstrong, Mahovlich, Keon, Bower, Olmstead, Stanley and Duff also contribute to the booty, with Kelly and Pulford cards personalized (P) to "Gerald." An early Bobby Hull McCarthy postcard was sent through the mail, with Elmer Vasko signing (P) the back of a dandy real photo postcard. Canadiens cards are highlighted by Beliveau (color), Geoffrion, Johnson, H. Richard and Moore. Other Habs to autograph black and white postcards are Hodge, Backstrom, Langlois, Gendron, Marshall and Gilles Tremblay, with facsimile autos on Talbot (back) and Hicke cards. Completing are Maple Leafs cards signed by Stewart, Baun, Brewer, Nevin and MacMillan, along with ones dedicated and signed by Harris and Hillman. Appealing collection offers numerous possibilities.
