Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
Fascinating offering features deceased HOFer Babe Siebert's original signature cleverly incorporated into a modern card. Siebert won the Stanley Cup with the Maroons in 1926 and with the Rangers in 1933 and the Hart Trophy with the Canadiens in 1937. Tragically, Babe drowned in the summer of 1939 before he could coach his first game with the Montreal Canadiens. Christened Albert Charles, Siebert signed "A.C. Siebert" in pencil on this cut piece of a wood stick that measures 2" x 3/8" which is inserted in the middle of a "Lumbergraphs" card that measures 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". Siebert was posthumously inducted into the HOF in 1964.
