Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
From a time when hockey was so often played on lakes and rivers, with fingers freezing and toques blowing in the wind, comes this delightful pair of long-fingered leather hockey gloves from the 1920s/30s, with all kinds of character showing in their well-used yet surprisingly good condition. Scuffed but not beaten up, with just five tiny holes showing in both palms and a homemade stitching job fashioned in the right forefinger. Wood protection is under the cuffs. Also offered is a pair of 5' vintage sticks circa 1950s, one from by Le Canadien Pro Glas featuring three blue strips, with the inked "Norbert XXX Geffrion - Boom Boom" in what appears to be a child's printing. The second is a Sherbrooke Pro Special Jr with several distinct cracks in the blade. Both sticks have had serious workouts over the years, probably in road hockey games, and are heavily taped. Nice reminders of simpler times.
