Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
This game puck from Patrick Roy's last appearance with the Montreal Canadiens surely served as motivational fuel for the future HOF goalie, who was left in goal by rookie head coach Mario Tremblay for Detroit's first nine goals in an 11-1 loss at the Forum on December 2, 1995. Humiliated, Patrick infamously told Habs president Ronald Corey he had played his last game for Montreal. Obtained directly from Patrick's ex-wife Michele, the wood plaque measures 5" x 7" with a large scrape/scratch running through the CH logo of the InGlasCo game puck. A gold-colored Forum de Montreal plaque also has the date of the game and the CH and Red Wings logos along with the final score. Part of the proceeds of the sale of this item will go towards the "Fond d'etudes des Remparts de Quebec". Comes with Patrick Roy's signed LOA who also signed the back of the plaque.
