Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
Dennis Polonich's team-signed 1976-77 Detroit Red Wings game-used stick is included with this collection of Polo's Detroit and AHL Adirondack Red Wings game-worn equipment. Dennis' Louisville Slugger gamer retains his original tape jobs and is signed by the likes of Rutherford, Maloney and MacKechnie, among others. Two pairs of Polo's CCM HG1 game-worn gloves saw duty with either Detroit, Adirondack or both, as did his Cooper shoulder pads. Also stored in Dennis' #8 Adirondack Red Wings hockey bag are Polo's pre-junior skates handed down from his brother and his vintage Red Wings travel bag. Comes with Dennis Polonich's signed LOA. There are about 17 black marker autographs from members of the 1976-77 Detroit Red Wings on the shaft of Dennis’ Louisville Slugger game-used stick with “Polonich” in big black block letters on each side of the shaft. The black marker signatures are lightly faded. A bold black marker notation at the bottom of the shaft notes that Polonich had given away the stick some 22 years before he received it back in 2010. With original white tape jobs on the knob and blade, which is missing a strand towards the toe and worn through along the bottom edge which reveals wear on the bottom of the blade and light separation in the wood.
Red Wings traveling back was given to players by team dentist Dr. Chuck Reaume;
Winged Wheel embroidered patches are sewn on the cuffs on one pair of Polo’s CCM game-worn gloves, both of which display nice wear with nice hole-free palms.
