Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2012
Colorful wool creation worn in 1925 by early ice hockey sportsman Eric Brolin as a member of the Vancouver Towers, a senior club that captured the Godfrey Cup as champions of the City of Vancouver. The red, yellow and black wool uniform belonged to Brolin and was worn in the early to mid-Twenties before he went on to play for the Detroit Cougars and St. Paul Saints. One of the oldest and most historical vintage British Columbia sweaters ever offered, the uniform features a charming striped high collar and felt lettering at the chest with a large "T" in gold and smaller "AC" for athletic club. The sweater has been extremely well-preserved with just a handful of very small age holes to note. The colors are quite vivid, much more colorful than how the jersey appears as worn by Eric in the included 5x7" reproduction photograph. A vintage newpaper article gives a complete rundown on the team and its members with a large collage-style image above depicting the players on the roster. Also included is the matching legging socks, complete with draned wool repairs and elastic stirrups. From the estate of Eric Brolin, complete with a letter of authenticity from the family.
