Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Fabulous souvenirs from the Montreal Expos' very first home game at Jarry Park against the St. Louis Cardinals on April 14, 1969. Included here are a ticket stub, game program and 1969 Expos yearbook from the first major league baseball game ever played outside of the United States. The box seat ticket stub measures approximately 21/2" by 5 1/4" and displays well, with a vertical crease on the left side and some creases in the right corners to note. The 9 7/8" x 6 5/8" game program has the date and result of the game - an 8-7 Expos win - handwritten in French on the cover. Check marks beside eight Expos players on the otherwise blank scoresheet are only other writing in the program. The 72-page yearbook remains in excellent-plus condition and features a beautiful colour centerfold team photo of the original Expos, along with individual pictures and profiles. Great pieces of Expos history!
