Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010

Roger Crozier was sensational between the pipes in his first full season with the Wings (1964-65 - 40 wins, 7 shutouts), getting the Calder Trophy nod as rookie-of-the-year before going on to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP the following season. This stunning red durene Detroit Red Wings gamer may have been worn by Roger Crozier but the number was also worn by a couple of other goaltenders during the mid to late Sixties. The embroidered winged-wheel logo rests on the chest with a single-layer tackle twill number "1" centered on the back as it appears on both upper arms. The Olympic Sports tag is sewn into the collar with a black size 46 fly tag hanging below. A peek inside the lower hem reveals a rectangular black label reading "Custom Tailored by The General, Greensville, Ohio". Very light game wear with a couple of light marks on the front and evidence of washing at the slightly-puckered crest and numbers. Destined to be a wonderful addition to your collection of game-worn Red Wings uniforms. Also included in the lot is a 1966 Stanley Cup Finals game program from the Olympia with Roger Crozier in the line-up wearing number 1, in near-excellent condition.
