Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010

Here is the door that was slammed shut in frustration by countless Bruins, Maple Leafs and Nordiques after they returned to their bench at the Montreal Forum, victims yet again of the fabled arena's legendary ghosts! This solid wood and metal gateway to the visiting team's bench remains in the same condition in which it appeared during the Canadiens' final game at the Montreal Forum, a 4-1 win over the Dallas Stars on March 11, 1996. The golden arches of McDonald's distinctive corporate logo outlined in black adorns part of a red advertising boards banner on the front of the door. The door's solid metal handle and latch remain intact along with the huge metal hinges on the left side of the back of the door, which is all painted blue. The #14 appears in white on both sides of the back of the door, which has a red layer along the top of the boards. The door measures approximately 30" tall and 22" across, and is about six inches wide along the top red portion of the boards. A very heavy piece for which special shipping or pick up arrangements need to be made.
