Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
“Killer” pair of game-used hockey sticks date from the early part of Doug Gilmour’s stellar NHL career. Featured here are a Titan gamer from the outset of his career with the St. Louis Blues and a Chimo from his next stop in Calgary, where Doug claimed his only Stanley Cup in his first season with the Flames in 1988-89. Both of these wood beauties retain Gilmour’s original tape job. The #9 is written in black marker at the bottom of the front of the white tape on the butt end of his Blues Titan TPM 1020 as well as at the bottom of the shaft, just below the gold and black band of tape. “D. Gilmour” is stamped on the shaft and the blade is remains covered with white hockey tape. The tape job on the butt end of Gilmour’s Flames Chimo has a wider knob and ribbed grib. “Gilmour 39” is stamped on the shaft and the blade features black bulldog tape.
