Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
As the story goes, Stan Mikita invented the curved stick during a practice in Chicago when his stick became wedged between a door and the boards and the blade bent at an angle. Stan Mikita fired off a few shots with the warped blade and the rest is history. This 1960s CCM Custom Pro features Mikita's wicked banana curve with a "Stan Mikita #21" autograph in fine black ink on the front of the heel moving up the shaft. "Mikita 21" is stamped on the face of the shaft with "Gunzo's, Berwyn Ill." stamped on the back of the shaft. The blade is done in vintage black bulldog tape with Mikita's typical corndog knob. Really nice use includes puck marks and great wear on the taped handle of this fully intact Mikita gamer with a wicked banana curve!
