Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Vintage game-used wood stick is signed and dedicated by Charlie Sands as a member of the 1938-39 Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins. Coached by Art Ross, the Bruins won their second Cup with a lineup that boasted HOFers Brimsek, Shore, Clapper, Cowley, Schmidt, Dumart, Bauer, Roy Conacher and Weiland. Sands was limited to one playoff game with the Bruins during their Cup run after contributing 12 points in 37 games during the regular season as Boston posted a 36-10-2 record to easily lay claim to the Prince of Wales Trophy. Pencil autograph on one side of this magnificent vintage gamer reads, "To my friend Geo Graham, from Chas Sands, Boston Bruins 1938/39". "Sands" is written in pencil on the other side of the shaft and high on the front of the shaft of this fully intact beauty, which retains Charlie's black tape jobs on the blade and butt end. A Beehive photo (EX) of Boston's Charlie Sands is also included. An outstanding addition to your game-used stick/Bruins collection.
