Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
A truly unique pair of blue WHA pucks offered here are 1972 Cleveland Crusaders and New York Raiders game pucks, each featuring advertising on the reverse. These two WHA gamers are rare variations on the shortlived blue pucks in that they have team logos of the Crusaders and Raiders on the respective faces of their blue Biltrite B1 slugs, while each has an ad on the reverse instead of the league logo. Each puck has Biltrite's distinctive "Made in Canada" in raised letters through the middle of the reverse where "Disc Record Tapes" appears in a white band encircling the reverse of the Crusaders blue puck while the Raiders blue puck has what originally read "New Heavy Duty Coldpower" on the scratched yellow circle printed on its reverse. There is also some loss to report on the reverse of the Crusaders' puck along with a stain. The orange Raiders logo on the face is whole and intact with very minimal loss to the white Crusaders logo, with a small stain to note, as well as a chip, a nick and a stain along the puck's edge. The top edge of the Raiders puck has a few nicks to note.
