Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Great game wear to report on this white mesh Colorado Rockies home jersey worn by centre Jack Valiquette, who finished second in team scoring in his first season with Denver's original NHL team. Valiquette contributed 57 points in 1978-79 to finish three back of Wilf Paiement for the team lead. Size 48 Rawlings tag is sewn in the neck of this white mesh affair with knit red-yellow-and-blue bands around the waist and sleeves. Loop-style fight strap remains intact. Logos and numbers are screened on and surname letters are heat-pressed blue vinyl on a white nameplate sewn on the back. Extensive game use includes distinctive mark on the right side of the team logo on the front that has been photo-matched to a team-issued photo that accompanies this Rockies beauty. Red paint transfer appears on both cuffs as well as on the left side of the upper edge of the nameplate. Stick marks on the front knit hem and board burns on the elbows of the knit sleeve inserts offer more evidence of really nice game use, along with more marks on the mesh front.
