Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010

Wayne Gretzky's trade from Edmonton to Los Angeles was a great boost for hockey in the United States. This Gretzky aluminum Easton gamer dates from 1992-93, when the Great One battled through an injury-plagued regular season and put his teammates on his back in the playoffs to beat Toronto in the conference final to lead the Kings to the Stanley Cup finals. Easton Aluminum HXP 5100 model Wayne Gretzky stick is fully intact and has "Gretzky" stamped on the shaft, just below Wayne's nicely-worn "Gripper" handle. Kings trainer Peter Miller's "RS93" code written on top of the wood butt end insert stands for "regular season 1993". "Gretzky" is also stamped on the now bare wooden blade where it connects with the aluminum shaft. Exceptional wand wielded by a hockey wizard during a magical time in Kings history.
