The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
These slick red and black Adidas cleats were used by Los Angeles
Angels of Anaheim outfielder Vladimir Guerrero. Guerrero starred for
the ill-fated Montreal Expos right from his debut at the end of the
1996 season through to his departure as a free agent. He continued his
slugging after joining the Angels, winning the American League MVP
award in 2004, his first season in the junior circuit. Adidas’
trademark three stripes appear in black on the instep of each shoe,
and again in red on the outside of the heel with Guerrero’s signature
No. 27 beneath it, also in red. “Vlad” is stitched onto the tongue of
each shoe above an embroidered flag of Guerrero’s native Dominican
Republic. The plastic cleats on the bottom of the size 12 ½ shoes
exhibit nice wear. “SAMPLE NOT FOR RESALE” is screened into the inside
of both shoes.
