The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
The WHA’s Chicago Cougars pounced on the Windy City at the start of the 1972-73 season. Ron Anderson’s 29 points from the Cougars’ blueline was the third highest among defenceman on the team that year. This original inaugural season Cougars jersey has a red Rawlings size 44 tag and Gunzo’s tagging inside the back hem and everything is sewn on including the wonderful and vivid chain-stitched crest. The nameplate holds screened lettering and sports repairs around the outer edges, evidence of a former plate which appears to have been slightly larger. A single bullet-style team repair adds to the game wear, which is evident but not overwhelming. This one has been well-preserved! Comes with a promo photo showing Anderson wearing the jersey.
