This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
Harry Lumley played goalie for five of the six Original Six teams over the course of his 17-year NHL career from 1943-60. Lumley, who never played for Montreal, appeared in one game for the New York Rangers in 1943-44 when he was loaned to them by Detroit, with whom he debuted as a 17-year-old earlier in the season. Lumley played six more seasons with the Red Wings before moving on to Chicago for two seasons and Toronto for four more, finishing his career over parts of the next three seasons with Boston. This fantastic action portrait of Lumley during his stint with the Red Wings was painted by artist Carleton "Mac" McDiarmid and autographed by the Hall of Fame goalie in blue ink. The artist has signed the image "Mac" on its original 13" x 15 1/2" professional illustration board.
