The Flower. Le Demon Blond. Whatever nickname you went by, Guy Lafleur was poetry in motion when he dominated the NHL scoring race in the late 1970s while leading the Habs to four straight Stanley Cups. His exploits and exciting play allowed him to join Maurice Richard and Jean Beliveau as the storied franchise’s iconic native sons, a holy trinity of hockey gods, as it were. Renowned Quebec artist Bernard Pelletier beautifully captured Lafleur’s explosive essence with this action portrait that shows the natural goal scorer’s flowing gold mane as he embarks on a rush up the ice, complete with puck on end at the heel of his wooden stick. Lafleur’s familiar No. 10 figures prominently on his right sleeve in this gorgeous 9” x 11 ½” likeness signed in pencil by the artist. Beautifully mounted in a dark brown wood frame measuring 16 3/8” x 19 7/8”, this work of art is tastefully presented in black matte with a blue outline. Featuring Lafleur’s original signature in clear blue marker, this piece of art is an outstanding homage to one of the most dynamic hockey players to ever step on the ice.
