Sensational 28” long silver sword was produced fittingly by the Wilkenson Sword Company in 1970 to commemorate the Buffalo Sabres joining the NHL. The inscription on the blade is accompanied by two Sabres logos and the stylish facsimile autograph of general manager Punch Imlach, while a lion’s head adorns the golden handle. Complementing it is a rarely seen inaugural night commemorative puck from the historic October 15, 1970 home opener (vs. Montreal) at Buffalo’s Auditorium. Mounted on a plaque, it, like the sword, is in difficult-to-hope-for-nicer condition.
