Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - October 2007
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/23/2007
One of the members of the 1980 U.S. Olympic gold medal winning team
who went on to a lengthy NHL career following the Miracle On Ice in
Lake Placid, Mike Ramsey was a consistent and effective defenceman
for 14 seasons in Buffalo, wearing this blue knit Sabres road shirt
in ’86-87. With half-detached Maska Ultrafil and “86 07” tags in the
neck, the jersey exhibits heavier game use, with the sleeves a fine
mess. Burns and resulting small holes total over two dozen, with two
team repairs on the right sleeve. Marks, including one into the
Sabres crest, and significant red paint transfer are on the front,
along with the alternate captain’s “A”. Inducted into the U.S.
Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001, Ramsey’s career included over 1000 NHL
games.
