Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - March 2007
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/27/2007
The Leafs’ number one goaltender during his six years in Toronto, fan favorite Felix Potvin donned this beauty during the latter half of his Leaf career. Signed on the interior by maker Greg Harrison who added “for Felix Potvin” and “96”, it shows good game use with several small scrapes throughout, a little red paint transfer near the left temple, a dirty chin protector and a sweat-stained terrycloth sweatband attached with Velcro in the inner forehead region. We’ve found a good photo match to be included with the mask, which also features Felix’s “The Cat” nickname at the base of the back plate, along with an image of the original cartoon Felix the Cat. Marvelous chance here for Leaf/mask collectors. *startred* Please note that the cage presently instaled on this mask is not the original cage that was worn by Felix Potvin, the cage was replaced a few years ago by our consignor. *endred*
