Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
The only player from Poland to have hoisted Lord Stanley’s hardware, Krzysztof Oliwa spents parts of 8 seasons in the NHL including two with Pittsburgh. This Penguins away jersey was worn by the tough winger circa 2001-02. A size “58” fly tag including label with handwritten “29” sits along the collar, with embroidered NHL and KOHO crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively. Styled with an attractive and textured Pens team crest, the solid black V-neck has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Oliwa” across the nameplate in matching material. A shoelace-style fight strap has also been added to the front of the jersey. A few marks and board burns are present, including a resulting hole over the left sleeve. The collar has also been torn and repaired, no doubt from a tussle with an opponent. An LOA from the Penguins organization will accompany.
