Drafted by the New York Islanders in 1987, Jeff Hackett backstopped six different NHL clubs throughout his career and also represented Canada at the 1998 IIHF World Championships. A veteran of exactly 500 National Hockey League games played throughout his 15-year career, offered here is this Chicago Blackhawks third jersey worn by Hackett during the 1998-99 season. Made by Nike, brand tagging displaying a size "58G" designation as well as additional labels reading "Center Ice Authentic Collection" and "Made in Canada" are affixed to the inner collar while a flaking "NHL Player" decal is found heat pressed beside them in the same area. Having had the logos of the NHL shield and Nike embroidered into the reverse hem, the front of the black coloured garment is decorated with Chicago's iconic Indian head team crest that features chain-stitched details throughout while matching tomahawk alternate logos that also sport similar chain-stitched embroidery details have been placed over both shoulders. Having had Hackett's number "31" sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer white-over-red tackle twill numerals, "Hackett" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the back. Exhibiting just overall light game wear, no obvious marks are observed over the sleeves or body though pilling is present at the end of both cuffs and evidence of a puck mark can be seen inside the left arm on the interior. Exhibiting pilling in a couple of small spots on the interior, a handwritten notation in black marker reading "98 2" for year and set information is found behind the NHL shield. Accompanied by a Blackhawks LOA listing the jersey as being issued to Hackett for the 1st half of the 1998-99 season , it should be noted that it is believed that the jerseys with the "98 2" notation behind the shield were also worn during the 1997-98 season as well as the Blackhawks usually recycled the third jerseys from the previous season in to the 1st half of the following one before issuing a new set.
