Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Harry Watson and fellow deceased HOFers Ted Kennedy and Max Bentley are among the 16 members of the 1951-52 Toronto Maple Leafs who have signed Watson’s team-signed game-used stick. A Love & Bennett model, Watson’s original tape jobs remain on the blade and knob, with “4” handwritten in marker on the upper shaft, with stamps also present from supplier Brown’s Sports. Fern Flaman makes it four HOFers who have signed among the mostly pencil autographs, with ballpoint signatures from Lewicki and McCormack more recent. Nice game wear on this solid and crack-free beauty includes numerous black marks on the lower shaft.
Others who have signed include Smith, Klukay, Mackell, Gardner, Juzda, Bolton, Rollins and Sollinger, who joined the Leafs in 1951-52. There are a total of 17 autographs because Bolton signed twice, including one in blue ink high on the shaft.
